This is one of the Four Great Tragedies of Shakespeare,
most of people know about this story. I have watched original Romeo and Juliet
movie in English class before. Then I was surprised because Olivia Hussey (she
played the Juliet) was beautiful. When she appeared the screen, she admired us
and we couldn’t take our eyes off her. It was strange time because I heard the
voice that people sighed for her lovely face in the class. I told my father
about it, he agrees with my opinion. When he was young, he watched it with
friends. When Olivia turned around, he was surprised too. This last scene was
shocking and that makes us sentimental. We can’t forget about this story. So,
this story makes many patterns.
Yesterday, I watched the
latest Romeo and Juliet story. In this movie Leonardo DiCaprio played Romeo and
Claire Danes played Juliet. They had beautiful face too. This movie use pop
songs, guns (don’t use sword) and Romeo wore an aloha shirt. There is a big difference.
However, sometimes they use same original words in this movie too. I noticed
when I heard Mercutio’s words. I’m interested in it, this movie uses the classical
part and the modern part. The contrast was great.
After watching, I think
that Juliet was not young girl, she was one of the lady. She had a sense of
responsibility and was sensible. However, Romeo was boy yet. First of all,
Romeo was fall in love with another girl but his mind was changed by Juliet. Of
course Juliet didn’t that. I think it is not fair, isn’t it? If Romeo’s love is
not true, we can see this movie’s other side. There is a scene that Tybalt
killed Romeo’s friend, Mercutio, Romeo killed Tybalt because he lost control of
himself. If he loves Juliet, he shouldn’t do that thing. I think if Juliet
faced same things, she can endure the feeling. There is the other point in the
sad story.
In last scene, Romeo and
Juliet can meet a little time. That’s time was wonderful. My favorite scene is
