BR2-11 : Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus longed to go to sea.(p.5)

When he was young, he loved watching ships arrive from far place, and packed with precious silk and spices. Of course, I knew him before I read this book. My elementally school's library had a book about him. But I didn't know, he and Marco Polo lived same time, Marco polo was a great explorer. In this time, long sailing was too dangerous so Columbus wanted to learn all he could about the sea, he experimented with using a compass and learned the ship's position.
Until he died at the age of 54, in the town of Vallodolid, in Spain, he kept loving a sailing and the sea. However I heard that he did slave trade and killed many slaves. It was not good things. As time goes by, law is changing but I think that he and his army had to keep Indian's rights. So, I don't like him.
